Women’s Players Compete In Worlds

The IIHF World Women’s tournaments have started in Europe.

Juniors-to-be Monique and Jocelyne Lamoureux will compete in the top division in Switzerland, as will Finland and redshirt freshman Michelle Karvinen. Their event has not started yet.

Junoir-to-be Jorid Dagfinrund and recruit Andrea Dalen are competing for Norway in the Division I tournament. They’ve played two games. Dalen has a goal and an assist, while Dagfinrud stopped 21 of 22 shots in the first game she saw action.

Recruit Josefine Jakobsen, meanwhile, was named the most valuable forward of the Division II tournament. Jakobsen led her tournament with six goals for Denmark. Getting Jakobsen through the NCAA Clearinghouse will be a priority for the Sioux this summer.
