Sioux Announce Team Awards

The Sioux handed out their annual team awards this week and Matt Frattin was named the MVP.

Jeff Anderson scholarship (MVP): Matt Frattin.
Rookie of the year: Derek Forbort.
Most improved player: Aaron Dell.
Coaches’ unsung hero: Jake Marto.
Plus-minus award: Ben Blood.
Archie Krum scholarship (leadership, high academic standards, athletic excellence): Chay Genoway and Derrick LaPoint (fourth straight year Genoway has won the award).
Tom Hoghaug scholarship (freshman who demonstrates initiative, character and responsibility): Brock Nelson.
Virg Foss three-star award: Matt Frattin.

Also, at the athletic department banquet, three Sioux players were honored.

Frattin was named the most valuable male athlete at UND; Marto was named the unsung hero; and Genoway won the community service award for putting in more community service than any male athlete at UND.

    Brad are you working out a deal with the Minnesota Wild to cover all the stories on Chay? Or will you stay with the Sioux even though your favorite players has left?! LOL Keep up the great work! Can’t wait till next year!
