Thompson to UND; Ausmus to Denver

UND has received a verbal commitment from Devils Lake defenseman Keaton Thompson, who will play for the U.S. Under 17 team.

Meanwhile, his teammate for the next two years, East Grand Forks defenseman Gage Ausmus, has given a verbal commitment to the University of Denver.

Thompson is an offensive defenseman who is starting to accelerate his education, so he could come in 2013 if he’s ready. He just finished his freshman year of high school.

Ausmus, a shutdown defenseman, could go to Denver in 2013. He’s a grade older than Thompson in school.

  1. How could the sioux let a home town guy turn DU ISH with the new nchl starting very soon? How long has Gage Ausmus been in east Grand Forks? I say we fight to get him to stay here at und.

  2. That’s EGF. Must have been influenced by Judd Stauss over there. Ex – Denver player. EGF needs to stop drinking the “special” Kool-Aid. Numbheads!

  3. Hey Brad,

What happened to Michael Di Puma? He isn’t listed as one of the incoming freshman on FightingSioux.com, is he not going to be part of the team?
