The University of Denver has battled injuries throughout this year and will continue to be without a couple of key players this weekend.
First-round draft pick Beau Bennett will continue to be sidelined by a wrist injury. He has not played in the second half of the season. The former BCHL star had 13 points in 10 games to start the season before suffering the injury.
Offensive defenseman David Makowski also continues to be out. Makowski, a sophomore, had 12 points in 20 games before going out.
Denver also announced Wednesday that forward Dan Olszewski is suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules. Olszewski will not play for the rest of this season. He only played in 9 games this year, registering 1 assist.
Denver previously played without stay-at-home defenseman John Ryder and goaltender Sam Brittain, but both have returned to the lineup. Ryder is DU’s most physical player. Brittain is outstanding — and his backup, Juho Olkinuora was very good in his absence.
