Bennett Leaves DU, Signs With Pittsburgh

The University of Denver lost a third player early today with sophomore forward Beau Bennett signing with the Pittsburgh Penguins, according to TSN’s Bob McKenzie.

Bennett, a first-round pick of the Penguins, only played 10 games this season because of a wrist injury. He finishes his college career with 38 points in 47 games.

The Pioneers earlier lost Jason Zucker and Drew Shore to the NHL. They will have to replace four of their top eight forwards, but should have a very strong defensive corps and goaltending to keep them in the hunt.

    Hey Brad,

Did you do a “season ending recap” and “look forward to next year” yet or is that in the works? Waiting on possibly some other early signings?
