Dave Hakstol is Inside College Hockey national coach of the year.
The website wrote that “The folks in Grand Forks expect their hockey team to win; North Dakota did that this past season thanks to a masterful coaching job by Hakstol.”
Hakstol helped lead UND to a fourth-place finish in the WCHA, a Broadmoor Trophy as the league’s postseason champion and a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament, despite the team not having enough players to fill out a full lineup for a third of the season.
Congrats to Hak on a fine season. There really is only one thing left for him to do. Win the big one.
Great job by Mr Hakstol & Co; a well-deserved honor…:-)
Congratulations to Mr. Hakstol. Well deserved recognition. A special congratulations to the entire Coaching Staff because as much as this is an achievement awarded to a Head Coach, this recognition is a credit to an entire Coaching Staff’s hard work, dedication, and commitment to preparing each week.
Well done.
Good.
Well deserved Hak and the rest of the staff. I thought it was his best year of coaching to date. Hopefully next year we can stay healthy and get some bounces in the playoffs.
Great to see at least 4 former Sioux in the NHL with Parise, Toews, Oshie and Greene. Two captains, an assistant captain, and a teams leading scorer. Plus a head coach. Very impressive.
Yup, nailed that one. Never been so proud of a regional final loss season.
Righted a wrong in the WCHA. Good luck in the USCHO choice this week. Should have been a contender for the Penrose (Daniels/Ferris State won it).
Well deserved. This year was without a doubt, in my honest opinion, the best job Hak & crew have done at UND.
