Wild pull it off, sign Parise

Zach Parise is headed back home to play for the Minnesota Wild.

His deal is worth $98 million over 13 years, which is the second-largest free-agent contract in NHL history behind Ilya Kovalchuk’s $100 million and the fourth-largest overall contract in NHL history behind Alexander Ovechkin, Sidney Crosby and Kovalchuk.

The Wild not only added the former UND star, they also added his friend and former Wisconsin star Ryan Suter.

With No. 9 being held by captain Mikko Koivu, Parise will wear No. 11 — the number he wore while at UND.

  1. What an exciting day for the WIld and UND fans as well. Its an amazing amount of money. Shocking actually and yet I love that they wanted to be close to home and family. Plus, we have some great young talent that can come along with them. Lets hope Chay is one of them :)

  2. Great news for Zack and the Wild. Seems like the Wild are making a statement signing two of the best names/players available. I will become a Wild fan this winter.

  3. At the introductory presser today Suter and ZP said they hoped the Gopher fans forgive them for going to school out of state. ZP said it has been 10 years since he made that decision and he has moved on. What does that mean?
