The injury to UND forward Michael Parks will keep him out of the exhibition game Friday, but the extent of his leg injury is not fully known yet.
Parks will be re-evaluated Friday, and UND hopes to know more about the injury at that point.
Parks sustained the leg injury during the third period of Saturday’s exhibition win against the University of Manitoba.
UND coach Dave Hakstol said the team also is in the process of trying to decide whether Andrew MacWilliam will play on Friday. MacWilliam was held out for precautionary reasons last weekend.
MacWilliam has practiced with contact for the last two weeks. Hakstol said they may try to get MacWilliam one game this weekend and one game in Alaska, easing him back into things.
Hakstol said the team can dress up to 20 skaters for the exhibition, but they will probably only go with 19. He said that managing 20 skaters makes it tougher to do evaluations.
On the women’s side, Michelle Karvinen will make the trip to Columbus, Ohio, this weekend for the series against Ohio State, but coach Brian Idalski indicated that doesn’t mean she’s going to play.
