Weekly Wednesday Update

I apologize for a lack/delay of updates in the last week or two. I have been battling a bug that has depleted energy levels, but I now have some pills that will hopefully get rid of this thing for good.

There was some good news for UND at this week’s press conference. It is possible that Michael Parks will play this weekend. He’s practicing and has not been ruled out yet, coach Dave Hakstol says. A final determination will be made on Thursday night or Friday morning. Parks has yet to play in a regular season game this season.

On the women’s side, coach Brian Idalski says that Michelle Karvinen has been cleared and will play against Bemidji State this weekend. That’s a huge lift for the women as Karvinen is one of the top players in the world. She tallied 60 points as a freshman. Idalski said she’s looked good in practice this week.

Idalski said he was hoping to get forward Leah Jensen back by the end of the month, but that’s not looking so great right now.

In the past, UND has moved Monique Lamoureux back to defense to try to break traps and it will do so again this weekend with the opponent being Bemidji State.

Not sure, but I’d sure like to see him on a line with Kristo and Knight! Move Rowney back with Little Mc and OD. Let the rest work itself out. Whoever practices best among the rest plays. No need to lock it down to one person.

Parks-Rowney-MacMillan was a pretty good line last year. They seemed to have some chemistry. I’d put that line back together if Parks is able to play.
