Gameday final: UND 3, Holy Cross 2

TONIGHT’S VIEWING: FCS Central, DirecTV 626, MidcoSN. Notes: Same lineups for both teams as last night. Live chat and full lines are below.

First period

Holy Cross 1, UND 0 — Brandon Nunn (Evan Zych, Nilan Nagy) 3:23 (pp). Zych has the puck at the point and finds Nunn in the right circle. Nunn holds the puck, looking for an opening and finds it blocker side.

Holy Cross 2, UND 0 — Rob Linsmayer (Kyle Fletcher) 13:05. Fletcher won a battle along the wall to create a 2-on-1. Fletcher took the shot, Saunders made a pad save, but Linsmayer followed up and scored on his backhand.

Holy Cross 2, UND 1 — Connor Gaarder (Nick Mattson) 19:00. Mattson led a 3-on-2 rush up the right wing. He found Gaarder cutting up the middle uncovered. Gaarder doesn’t get a lot on his shot, but Rowney goes to the net hard, screens Ginn and he has no clue where the puck is.

Second period

No scoring.

Third period

Holy Cross 2, UND 2 — Michael Parks (Corban Knight, Danny Kristo) 4:15 (pp). Knight, standing in the left circle, sees Parks on top of the crease. Knight gets the puck to Parks, who taps a shot at Ginn. The goalie makes the initial save, but slides out of position and Parks taps the rebound in. Knight’s point streak goes to 15 games.

UND 3, Holy Cross 2 — Danny Kristo (Corban Knight, Joe Gleason) 14:37 (pp). Kristo gets the puck at the left point, walks it to the middle of the ice and snipes one through traffic.

  1. I am very thankful that the games are televised. Perhaps that is enough said, however I have to admit that it has taken a bit to get used to the new broadcasters. Nonetheless, I have to say that that listening to Katie Hale is like listening to someone scratching their finger nails on a chalkboard! So, I don’t, I hear her name and I grab the remote. She may be a great person, I have no idea, but to that end – she should keep her day job!

    • Do what I do, turn down the TV and listen to the radio feed. It may not match up perfectly but it is better than having to endure Dan Hammer.

      • I’m getting used to Hammer (although he’s no Pat Sweeny) but Kober adds nothing to the telelcast. Sorry. Bring back Jim.
