  1. After watching a few games live and many on TV this year, I have thought we have played well defensively, however, the goals that are scored against UND seem to come from defensive break downs in front of the net or mis-assignments in front of the net, specifically dealing with the weak side forward.

Do you think the absence of Eades contributes to any of this?

  2. Fire Hac! This 5th in the country is just horrible! Our defense is the worst ever. We need to sit a majority of them and gosh our goalies. No clue what to say there. The coaches can’t figure out how to put together lines and I have no idea how they can get dressed in the morning! I played hockey through bantams and clearly I know hockey. ;)

Seriously, we are fifth in the country!!! Fifth! These are college kids doing the best they can with an amazing coaching staff. We are blessed. Lets act like it and focus on the good. We are still growing and learning! We’ll get there! If not, life will still go on and our players will continue to get a great education at the Harvard of the Midwest :)

  3. I am not hating on anyone, my hat is off to the entire UND hockey organization. Hakstol has brought many frozen 4 appearances in his tenure as head coach. I simply asked if anyone else has noticed this breakdown, and if the lack of Eades was perhaps a cause, or if I was off base.

  4. All five guys on the ice need to play defense in the defensive end. Kristo and Knight were caught standing around on a lot of goals. You won’t win championships without defense.

  5. Haha so sorry Sioux in MN, that wasnt directed at you. My bad! Your question was sure fair. My statement was pointed at tons on the Friday night chat and other critical spirits. I think legit questions are as fair as fair could be. It’s when guys are being called out and people act like the sky is falling

  6. UMass-Lowell is my pick to win it all in 2013. Hellebuyck and Carr have been a great tandem in net, with Wetmore, Wilson, Pendenza, Wetmore and others really stepping up recently. This is a team nobody is counting on, but I predict will be raising the trophy in 3 months.

  7. Can someone please explain to me how this pairwise works? How can quinnipiac be ranked ahead of minnesota? Minnesota has beat notre dame, boston college, and had a great series with und, but they are still ranked second in this poll? This formula seems worse than the bcs poll in college football.

  8. Brad –
Any injury updates that you’ve heard? Gleason took a hard tumble (trip) in the 3rd period of the MN game and I didn’t see him much after that.
Sioux in MN, I think you are spot on. The lack of back checking was obvious at times and something that Eades prided himself in when he played. Great team, fun to watch, just need to get all facets of the game going.
