The Lincoln Stars and Omaha Lancers practiced at T.D. Ameritrade Park on Thursday afternoon, testing out the ice surface and surroundings before Saturday’s Battles on Ice.
UND and Omaha will not skate there until Saturday morning.
A couple of USHL players who skated there today said the ice was pretty good for the most part. They said that it got a little choppy at the end, but overall, they thought it was pretty good and that it will hold up on Saturday.
Omaha coach Dean Blais told the Omaha World Herald that he wasn’t worried about the ice conditions, especially because the ones in CenturyLink Center were not good last weekend. So, the teams may get used to rough ice before going outdoors.
Omaha Lancers player Matias Cleland tweeted the picture below from practice today.

Do you know what time the Sioux practice Saturday morning and if fans are allowed in to watch?
