Reserve Tickets For NCHC Tournament

Beginning today, North Dakota hockey fans can reserve preferred seating for the inaugural National College Hockey Conference (NCHC) Championship scheduled for March 21-22, 2014 at the Target Center in Minneapolis.

Four-game ticket packages are available for $130 (lower level, first eight rows of upper level) and $60 (Row 9 in upper level and higher) and each package includes one ticket to each of the four games of the inaugural NCHC Championship.

By visiting and entering the promo code DAKOTA474, fans can reserve their preferred seats in the UND section. This is a reservation only and once your credit card is charged, you are guaranteed tickets. Seat locations will be assigned at a later date and tickets will be mailed by March 1, 2014. Seat location assignment priority is based on when you purchase your reservation. All eight NCHC member schools will receive priority seating over general public.

Limit eight packages per order. If interested in purchasing more than eight seats, please contact the Target Center box office directly at Refer to the attached flyer for additional information.

The National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) begins play in 2013-14 and will include Colorado College, Denver, Miami University, Minnesota Duluth, Nebraska Omaha, North Dakota, St. Cloud State and Western Michigan.

The 2014 NCHC Championship schedule includes two semifinal games on Friday, March 21, followed by the third-place and championship games on Saturday, March 2.

That’s the logo? I was expecting a little bit more. Hopefully the league didn’t spend a ton of money on that.

Has anybody talked about possible television coverage of the tournament lately? I have been a longtime final five fan with great seats and have enjoyed watching rival teams that I most care about watching play each other or simply play if UND isn’t involved. Since I live in the metro area now and I know the Target Center will not sell out, I will probably just attend only when the Sioux are playing and watching the other games or other tournaments on television if at all possible. I don’t want to buy into a ticket priority package when I don’t have a clue where I would sit. The logo looks okay, but hopefully they aren’t planning on putting that one on the jerseys.

Also, the tournament will be just like the state high school hockey tournament with this grouping of fan sections. I think part of the fun is sitting around other fans and seeing people scattered throughout wearing our colors, not clumped together. I guess I am just not a big fan of change and like best the way they are now. Why change the whole concept now at another venue? At least we have alcohol still.

Brad, do we know the NCHC rules yet? I really hope they will have Shootouts! Yes, shootouts have little to do with the game, but it’s better than the massive amount of pointless ties we’ve seen in the past few years.
