UND senior defenseman Andrew MacWilliam has signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

MacWilliam, a 6-foot-2, 230-pound physical defenseman, was drafted by Toronto in the seventh round in 2008.

The captain from Alberta had two goals, 11 assists and a team-high 116 penalty minutes as a senior. MacWilliam also had a plus-13 rating, which was tops among all UND defensemen.

  1. I wish Mr. MacWilliam the best. Hope he makes the Toronto NHL team soon or another NHL team. Whomever gives him an opportunity at the NHL level will definitely like his physical style of play!

  2. Good for him! Loved watching him play and develop into one heck of a D man! I would take him over Forbort any day! Love his heart and work ethic out there! Thanks for all the hard work Mac! Best of luck at the next level!!

  3. Best of luck, great 4 years playing for UND. Sioux fans appreciated all your hard work and effort. Hope you enjoying playing in a league where you can run into people and not get called for a penalty.
