Woods Leaves UW For Pros

Chalk this one up as a bit of a surprise.

Wisconsin forward Brendan Woods is signing with the Carolina Hurricanes and giving up his final two years of college eligibility. Read the full story here.

Woods had just five goals and 12 points as a sophomore. For his career, he had 10 goals and 22 points.

Woods, the son of Anaheim Ducks assistant coach Bob Woods, is the first Badger to sign early this offseason and the ninth from the Big 10.
