Lamoureuxs make National Team

Former UND stars Jocelyne and Monique Lamoureux were introduced as members of the U.S. National Team, which is essentially the 2014 U.S. Olympic Team.

A total of 25 players were named to the National Team. Four players will be cut before the team goes to Sochi, Russia, in February to compete in the 2014 Olympic Games.

Warroad’s Gigi Marvin, who played college at Minnesota, also is on the team.

Three active WCHA players were selected to the team and will miss the season. They are Minnesota forward Amanda Kessel, Gopher defenseman Lee Stecklein and Wisconsin forward Anne Pankowski.

The Gophers do get to keep Hannah Brandt and the Badgers will keep goalie Alex Rigsby.

Another notable is that a 16-year-old, Jincy Dunne, is on the team. Dunne is the No. 1 recruiting target out there and will name her school.
