Three UND Players Earn Olympic Camp Invites

Three former UND standouts will attend Olympic orientation camps this summer.

Jonathan Toews will be at Team Canada’s camp, while Zach Parise and T.J. Oshie will be there for Team USA.

In the last Olympics, Toews led Canada in scoring and was named the tournament’s best forward. Parise led the American squad in scoring.

Roseau’s Dustin Byfuglien also earned an invite to Team USA’s camp.

Team USA’s camp will be Aug. 26-27 in Arlington, Va. Team Canada’s camp will be held Aug. 25-28 in Calgary.

The 2014 Olympic Games will be held Feb. 7-23 in Sochi, Russia.

Greene’s game doesn’t translate well on a larger ice sheet. In NHL size rinks great, but larger sheet with speedy forwards, he’ll be far less effective. In a playoff series his grinding style is a huge help, but in a one and done type tournament, not as much.

Brad, what’s the story on the revolving goalie door at Omaha? They had two leave the program, and one come back. Now another (Belfour) leaves. There must be more to this story than meets the eye.

Nothing new with Blais and goalies. Remember how he had Karl sharing time (too much) with Kollar. Belfour played UND tough both games, pitched a shut-out the next game against UAA and then was benched the rest of the season the following game when he gave up 3 goals. There is obviously more to the story but I wish he would have been given more of a chance!

Do we know if the games will be played on Olympic size ice? They played on NHL size ice in Vancouver.
