New flags at the Ralph

Ralph Engelstad Arena has always done a great job displaying the history of the UND hockey program with photos, old trophies, the NHL wall and other items. This offseason, they added another great touch, putting flags around the concourse to honor former greats.

You’ll see flags for everyone from Bill Steenson in the 1950s to Corban Knight and the 2010s. You’ll even seen a couple of flags for women’s greats, Jocelyne and Monique Lamoureux.

You’ll have to take a walk around the building this fall to check out all of the flags.

Also, the NCHC flags are up on one end of the Ralph.

  1. What will happen to all of the Sioux flags and banners in the building? Do you see the Ralph transitioning away from these anytime soon?

Center ice logo is 100 times better than last years boring font.

  2. I don’t know about this one… I feel like it emphasizes to much attention on the individual and not on the team as a whole in the main concourse of the Ralph. Of course these players should be recognized for their contributions to the team, just maybe not in this way permanently
Guess ill have to take a look for myself before making a definitive decision on whether or not I like it, not that it would change anything anyway lol
