Tonight’s viewing: CBS Sports. No webcast. Lineup notes: Zane Gothberg starting in net. Bryn Chyzyk is in for Mitch MacMillan. Gage Ausmus back in at defense. Derek Rodwell and Andrew Panzarella are the scratches on the trip. Keaton Thompson, Mitch MacMillan, Coltyn Sanderson and Matt Hrynkiw didn’t make the trip. Full lines and live chat are below.

First period

UND 1, Miami 0 — Michael Parks (Brendan O’Donnell, Paul LaDue) 7:55. LaDue starts a nice transition in his own end to start a three-on-two rush. Parks takes the shot from the middle. It’s stopped, but he gets his own rebound and shoots it off Williams and it trickles across the line.

UND 2, Miami 0 — Mark MacMillan (Brendan O’Donnell, Michael Parks) 18:03. UND has a three-on-two rush and O’Donnell snaps a shot just over the crossbar. It hits the back wall hard and flies back over the goal and into the crease area, where MacMillan knocks it it.

Second period

UND 3, Miami 0 — Brendan O’Donnell (Michael Parks, Dillon Simpson) :14. Miami’s goalie misplays the puck and is out of position. Parks makes the feed from the side of the net to O’Donnell, who makes no mistake.

UND 3, Miami 1 — Sean Kuraly (Alex Wideman, Anthony Louis) 8:25. Wideman takes a shot from the point that’s stopped by Gothberg, but Kuraly fights off a Simpson check to bang home the rebound.

UND 3, Miami 2 — Anthony Louis (Matthew Caito) 18:18. Louis circles the net to the right circle. He has Czarnik back door and Gothberg is looking pass. Louis attempts the pass but it hits traffic in front and sneaks by Gothberg.

Third period

UND 4, Miami 2 — Nick Mattson (Luke Johnson, Troy Stecher) 12:45 (pp). Mattson blasts a point shot that goes off the stick of Miami’s Czarnik and into the corner of the net.

Sioux forwards look so much faster than last year. Goaltending was very solid in the 1st period…..finally…whew!!! Not sure about our D yet….so many new faces out there. I really like this team….reminds me of Blais’ team in 1997….not huge players but fast and great with the puck. Should be an interesting year.

Great game by UND. Miami is a very good team, with out Gothberg this game could have gone the other way. If there was a tracker on Starman I think he called Drake’s name the most.
