UND game puck returns from space

NASA astronaut Karen Nyberg, a UND alum, returned from her six-month stint on the International Space Station and brought back a unique possession — a UND hockey game puck.

Nyberg brought that along with her personal possessions to space, and it is believed to be the first hockey puck in space.

No word on what Nyberg plans to do with the puck.

She landed in Kazakhstan shortly before UND beat Nebraska Omaha in Sunday’s game 3-2. Nyberg returned with a pair of Russians. The return trip reportedly took her about three hours.
