Penn State sees good numbers

Penn State is 3-5-1, without a marquee win this season, but it has some good momentum building with its fan base, which is key in building the program and selling it to recruits.

Penn State has sold out all five home games so far this season and ranks fifth nationally in average attendance. The only teams ahead of the Nittany Lions are UND, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Colorado College.

So, Penn State ranks No. 1 among teams in the Eastern time zone. That’s pretty impressive. And with it being located in a solid hockey area, you have to think it’s only a matter of time before the Lions are contenders.

It’s still early, but here are the numbers.

  1. They are one of those teams that have passionate fans everywhere. They had a couple hundred vocal fans at both games at Air Force early this season.
