Cornell goalie scores a goal

Cornell freshman goalie Mitch Gillam scored a goal Tuesday night in his college debut against Niagara. He’s only the third college goalie to score a goal, joining Western Michigan’s Mike Mantua (2002) and Michigan State’s Chad Alban (1998).

Five other goalies have been credited with a goal but did not shoot the puck in the net themselves, including Maine’s John Tortorella in 1980 and UMass’ Jonathan Quick in 2007.

  1. Haha, that’s awesome! I love how he skated by the bench for his high-fives too.
