First period

Canada 1, USA 0 — Haley Irwin (Caroline Ouellette, Jayna Hefford) 17:22. Jayna Hefford leaves a drop pass for Ouellette, who blasts one that Irwin deflects in.

Canada 1, USA 1 — Monique Lamoureux (Jocelyne Lamoureux, Meghan Duggan) 19:49. Monique gets the puck in the slot looks to shoot, gets the goaltender down and skates near the goal line and puts it top shelf to please the hometown crowd.

Second period

USA 2, Canada 1 — Brianna Decker (Gigi Marvin, Kendall Coyne) 8:37. A few seconds after a power play expires, Marvin makes a terrific cross-ice feed to Decker, who blasts one short side.

USA 3, Canada 1 — Hilary Knight (Alex Carpenter, Kelli Stack) 13:24. Stack makes a nice play to carry the puck to the slot, then drops a pass below the right circle for Carpenter, whose shot gets behind Szabados and sits in the crease. Knight crashes and makes it 3-1.

USA 4, Canada 1 — Jocelyne Lamoureux (Monique Lamoureux, Meghan Duggan) 13:35. Monique gets the initial shot on goal, Jocelyne follows it up and puts the rebound in the corner of the net. Both twins get a goal.
