EGF wins state championship

East Grand Forks won its first boys hockey state title this afternoon, beating Hermantown 7-3 in the championship.

Check the Herald site for full coverage. Tom Miller is at the tournament.

East Grand Forks, coached by former Sioux forward Tyler Palmiscno, used a lot of its UND connections in the championship.

Three sons of former Sioux scored goals — Grant Loven (son of Tim), Eddie Eades (son of Cary) and Dixon Bowen (son of Jeff). Mark Poolman’s son, Colton, also had a strong game.
