The handshake line

Friends and former UND linemates T.J. Oshie and Jonathan Toews went head-to-head in the first round of the NHL playoffs.

The Blackhawks and Toews, who scored three game-winning goals in the series, ended up getting the best of the Blues and Oshie, though Oshie did score in each of the last two games of the series.

After the game, they shared an embrace at center ice.

  1. How lucky are we as Sioux fans and alumni to have these two superstars representing our program….wow!

  2. It would be interesting to see how our former players would do if they were on the same NHL team. I think our first two lines could hang with anybody.

    Porter – Parise – Zajac
    Frattin – Toews – Oshie
    Stafford – Nelson – Malone?

    • I’ve thought about this before!! The only thing that would be TERRIBLE is the defense. We would have Greener as our number one then you would have Brian Lee, Taylor Chorney, Finley, Commodore, Genoway, Forbort, Macwilliam, Blood, and Smaby. Our goal tending wouldn’t be good either. Parise, Dell and JPL would be our only options

      • Yeah I agree we would be a little thin on D and in the nets. For this “fantasy team” I think we would need to win most of our games 5-4 instead of 1-0.

  3. Malone is looking good against the Wild tonight. Put him on the 2nd line with Toews and Oshie.

  4. Not sure if I should say this. D corps could be filled with ex-gophers. They have a few, at least 4 anyhow.
