UND will be practicing outdoors today to prepare for Saturday’s outdoor game against Nebraska Omaha at T.D. Ameritrade Park.
The practice is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. at University Park. Fans in the area will be able to stop by and have a look. The Herald also will be there with full coverage of the practice.
UND coach Dave Hakstol has said that he wants to have the outdoor practice, especially for the sake of the goaltenders. Hakstol said their sightlines will be different outdoors and he hopes this will help them adjust.
UND will take on Nebraska-Omaha on Friday night indoors at CenturyLink center. Then, UND is expected to have a morning skate Saturday to test out the ice at T.D. Ameritrade Park, home of the College World Series.
The outdoor game will be played at 4 p.m.
A United States Hockey League game between the Lincoln Stars and the Omaha Lancers will be played at 12:30 p.m., preceding the UND-UNO game.
